Well, WhatsApp has introduced multiple features, recently with the ability to delete unwanted messages in the group by admin or users. Another feature where users can del the messages within an hour now can del the messages within a time limit of 2 days.

“Rethinking your message? Now you’ll have a little over 2 days to delete your messages from your chats after you hit send, the company tweeted while announcing the update of this feature.

The new feature will be implemented right away for all users, but if you haven't updated to the latest version of the app, you won't be able to access it.

Further, WhatsApp users will have 2 days and 12 hours to delete their messages. Users can delete the message just for themselves or request that messages be deleted for everyone.

Deleting messages for everyone allows one to delete specific messages they have sent to an individual or group chat. While deleting messages for yourself removes them from the user’s device only. It has no impact on your recipients' chats. Your recipients will still see the messages on their chat screen.

How to delete messages on WhatsApp

  • Open WhatsApp and go to the chat messages you want to delete.
  • Tap and hold the message you want to delete. You can select multiple messages to delete at once
  • Now, tap on delete and then choose to delete 'for only me or for everyone.'
