The ability to send messages to yourself from a linked device is one of the missing features of WhatsApp in multi-device. It is going to be a thing of the past it seems, WhatsApp is working on an update where users can use their own chat on linked devices for a future update, WABetaInfo reported.
Earlier, WhatsApp users used to send messages to themselves by opening the chat with their own phone number to save some important notes. However, the feature was no longer available when using multi-device as the chat with their own phone number only shows up only on the primary device.
WABetaInfo also shared a screenshot of the feature. It will be released in a future update of the WhatsApp Desktop beta.
"When you are searching for contacts within WhatsApp Desktop beta, you will be able to send messages to yourself by tapping your personal chat in the future. Note that this chat will also show up when you try to log into WhatsApp from another different mobile device when the feature will be released to people at a later date," as per the website.
Further, WhatsApp is also working on a new section where users can submit bug reports. There will be a new row right within WhatsApp Settings called “Report a bug” in a future update. The release date of this feature is also not known as it is still under development.
