Wipro : Automating Sales Force

New Update

Wipro FMCG has a separate department of Consumer Care and Lighting Products

which involves around 500 sales officers across the country. These sales

officers sell products on a daily basis and report their figures both volume

—wise and value-wise to their respective reporting managers. These reports on a

daily basis were critical in deciding sales strategies. Prior to introducing a

simple and mobile way to do the reporting, Excel sheets were extensively used.

The sales officers were not comfortable with this process as they were not tech-savy

and consistency of reports became a major concern. Aaccording to Wipro, the sole

aim of this project was to incorporate a user friendly reporting scheme that

enables each sales officer access to the reporting system.

Unicel Technologies came out with an easy to use solution by giving the sales

officers a platform to submit sales report via SMS. Unicel provided a complete

end-to-end solution using its Virtual Number Concept of Enterprises Messaging

Services. It designed specific formats for reporting of both value based and

volume based reports. Each sales officer could now send their daily reports at

the click of the joystick on their handsets via SMS. Unicel also provided

multiple options for monitoring these reports. It could reach to their

respective managers each day in not only raw forms but also after customized

processing. Both regional and area managers could now get sales reports in raw

form and also in consolidated forms.
