Vivo's X Fold2 and X Flip are the newest competitors in the market for foldable phones. The second-generation vivo horizontal folding phone features updated cameras, a redesigned hinge mechanism, the most recent Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU, and 120W wired charging.
The X Flip is Vivo's first effort at a clamshell foldable, and it features a 50MP primary camera, a 3-inch cover display, and a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 CPU. Sadly, vivo had no information on a worldwide release.
Vivo X Fold2 Specifications
The X Fold 2 features an 8.03-inch E6 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2160 x 1916 pixels.
The panel has an aspect ratio of 4:3.55 and a new droplet-style hinge that is lighter and more durable than the one that was used on the X Fold and X Fold+ last year.
A 6.53-inch AMOLED cover screen with a more conventional 21:9 aspect ratio, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a resolution of 2520 x 1080 pixels is also included.
The two boards highlight ultrasonic unique mark scanners and 16MP forward-looking cameras housed in poke-hole patterns.
As far as aspects, X Fold2 is 1.5mm slimmer than its ancestor in collapsed structure and north of 30 grams lighter.
Details about the camera
The X Fold2 has three cameras on the back: a 50MP main camera with OIS and Zeiss T* coating, a 12MP ultrawide, and a 12MP 2x portrait lens with up to 20x digital zoom.
The camera system is supported by Vivo's own V2 image chip, which boasts improved noise reduction and HDR in stills and video. The Zeiss Cinematic mode of the X Fold2 lets you record up to 8K video at 30 frames per second.
