Xerox WorkCentre M15i

This is an entry-level mono laser-based MFD from Xerox that can print, copy, colors scan and fax. It connects to a computer over USB or parallel port and also supports optional network print connectivity. There’s also a 30-sheets ADF (Automatic Document Feeder), which makes scanning and copying more convenient. The copying function supports a resolution of 600dpi and an enhanced resolution of 1200dpi. It can reduce or enlarge images from 25 % to 400 %. The MFD also has an auto fit feature wherein it automatically adjusts the image size to fit in a paper. Also, the WorkCentre M15i is capable of two sided copying, using the ADF. The same can also be done for faxes, and printing. It has a 550 sheet tray and supports paper sizes varying from 5.5” X 8.5” to 11” X 14”. Another important feature of the MFD is its support for PCL6.

Coming to performance, the MFD lived up to its rated print speed of 15 ppm on A4 sheets. It took 2 mins and 40 secs to scan a full-page color image at 300 dpi. For a full-page text document, it took about 50 secs. The MFD’s fax unit has 4MB memory, which can store up to 300 pages. The MFD comes with PaperPort 8.0, and Omnipage SE 1.0 software.

Given the price tag of Rs 75,000 and features such as PCL 6 support, duplex and more, this MFD is a good buy for medium-sized work groups.
