Xiaomi just stated that the flagship Xiaomi 13 series would be unveiled for worldwide regions on 26 February. The Xiaomi 13 has two variants: the Xiaomi 13 and the Xiaomi 13 Pro. The company has also announced that the Xiaomi 13 Pro would be launched in India on the same day, making it India's first 1-inch camera smartphone. Given the company's track record in India, the brand is expected to reveal just the pro model — the Xiaomi 13 Pro, which will also be the first Xiaomi smartphone powered by Leica.

Xiaomi 13 Pro specs and characteristics

  • The Xiaomi 13 Pro has a 6.73-inch curved display with 1440p resolution, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and Corning Gorilla Victus protection.
  • The  Xiaomi 13 Pro phone boasts an 86.9% screen-to-body ratio and an LTPO display with a customizable refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz.
  • The  Xiaomi 13 Pro display includes a punch hole in the centre that conceals a 32 MP selfie camera.
  • The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC powers the  Xiaomi 13 Pro smartphone with up to 512GB of internal storage (based on UFS 4.0) and up to 12GB of RAM.
  • It should be noted that the Xiaomi 13 Pro's basic model comes with 128GB of UFS 3.1-based storage and 8GB of RAM.
  • There is also a 256GB Xiaomi 13 Pro model with 8/12GB of RAM.

The new and upgraded camera system is expected to be the centrepiece of the Xiaomi 13 Pro. The Xiaomi 13 Pro camera contains three 50MP lenses:

  • A 50MP 1-inch wide-angle lens (f/1.9, 23mm)
  • A 50 MP ultra-wide angle lens (f/2.2, 14mm)
  • A 50MP telephoto lens (f/2.0, 75mm) with 3.2x optical zoom capabilities

The Xiaomi 13 Pro is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery and supports 120W rapid wired charging, 50W wireless, and 10W reverse wireless charging. The device will support 5G, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and several geo-positioning systems such as GPS, NaVIC, and GLONASS.

The Xiaomi 13 Pro may be the most expensive smartphone the firm has ever introduced in India. Given the costs of the recently released iQOO 11 and the OnePlus 11, the Xiaomi 13 Pro will likely cost approximately Rs 65,000 in India. In terms of software, the phone is expected to come with MIUI 14, based on the Android 13 operating system.
