New Update

Nvidia has unveiled its Tegra Note 7 inch tablet that packs the latest Tegra 4 processor that features a Cortex A15 CPU and 72 core GeForce GPU. The tablet priced at $199 will be available across various markets, including India by end of this year. The most surprising aspect about Nvidia's strategy with the Tegra Note is that, in India the tablet will be offered by Xolo, the sub brand of Lava International.

Xolo, if one might recall was the first company to introduce Intel powered smartphones in the market (which did not impress the consumers much) and with Nvidia announcing the company as its vendor partner for Tegra Note in India, this is another feather in the cap for the India-based brand. Xolo has been around in the market for some time now and recently made its foray in the tablet market as well.

Nvidia seems to be eyeing the budget tablet segment but competing with the likes of Amazon and Google Nexus 7 which is also priced similarly. It remains to be seen whether Xolo can live up to Nvidia's promise and offer a decently packaged product at an affordable pricing of below Rs 15,000 (going by the current market rate).

The Tegra Note, as per reports will sport a 7-inch 1280×800 pixel display, run on stock Android OS, that ensures update to latest Android version over-the-air (OTA). It also packs the latest Tegra 4 quad-core chipset, with a 1 GB RAM most probably. The tablet comes fitted with a 5 MP rear and a VGA front camera and 16 GB internal memory expandable up to 32 GB via microSD.
