Yatra - Travel Buddy

The Problem: Travel involves uncertainty and every traveller faces the same. The uncertainty can be about delayed flights, missed connecting flight and arriving at a new place. The best way of avoiding such uncertainties is through the availability of information and having a mechanism for corrective action. However, what can be achieved easily from home or from office may become difficult while travelling.

The Solution: With the mobile platform becoming increasingly popular across the world, the Yatra decided to make use of it. They extended the functionality of their website so that users could search and book flights from their mobile phones. The functionality is available as a downloadable application, called Travel Buddy and through a WAP browser. The application is available for all popular mobile platforms, including iPhone, iPad, Blackberry, Android, Windows Mobile, and Symbian phones.

The Result: It allows the traveller to access all information like plan travel, flight search, check flight status, etc. One can also book the ticket instantaneously by paying through credit or debit cards. This application has been developed for the limited bandwidth with mobiles.
