The most important aspect of information is its timing and this is where Yes
Bank was facing difficulty; there was too much of fragmented data generated from
different departments which was almost impossible to use in an efficient manner.
Plus there was a lack of holistic customer information and a timely reporting
system. To overcome all these issues and to consolidate information from
different sources, Yes Bank decided to build their own Business Intelligence
software named 'Kaleidoscope'. As the solution was developed inhouse, the cost
of implementation was very low. As a result of this implementation, almost 100+
business reports, dashboards, etc are now available to all users in the morning
enabling them to plan specific actions for the entire day, which in turn has
huge business impact. Enterprise wide data warehouse provides numerous reports
across categories which facilitate cross-sell, up-sell, and deep-sell
opportunities for the bank, increased liabilities generation and greater income.
Along with these benefits, this implementation led to building of KPIs and
performance indicators which are used in monitoring performance and established
various controls for the same. On the other hand, enterprise data warehouse
provided a stable platform to make other peripheral applications more feature
rich and it also opened doors to build future applications.
