New Update

Zen Ultrafone Amaze 701 FHD is the latest flagship phone from Zen Mobiles with 1080p display with OGS (One Glass Solution), 13MP rear and 8MP front camera, the processor has been upgraded from 1.2 to 1.5 GHz quad-core with 64 GB microSD support. The company surprised many with its Ultrafone HD smartphone launched previously and Amaze 701 FHD seems to be the next logical step in its evolution.

It has the usual volume rocker, power button and capacitive buttons under the display. On the application front there are no issues, but during game play we noticed a few glitches in high graphic games, though other games like beach buggy, Temple Run etc ran smoothly. The viewing angles of the display are also quite wide and you can see the screen at extreme viewing angles as well.

The camera performance of 701 FHD is very satisfactory, and the rear camera on the device has auto focus and can record 1080p video at 30 fps with good photo quality even in low light conditions. The 8 MP front camera performed well in our video conferencing session. The 701 FHD also includes premium features like video that pauses when you look away, shake to share and flip to silent and a smart flip case which has a transparent window - just like Samsung's S view case.

But it also offers smart functionality, like it switches the phone on/off and with the case closed the display changes to show important information through the window which may not as a pre-requisite feature but we're glad that the company has looked at offering it. All things said, the pricing does seem to be an issue, add to the fact that one has to question the company's credentials that people will be willing to spend upwards of Rs 15,000 on the brand.
