I n the notebook shootout that we carried in August 2008, Zenith Presidio
came out top in the budget category, and that was quite surprising as all
leading vendors were involved. Zenith has again proved its mettle with Zenith
Director laptop. This excellent performing machine comes with dual core
processor running at 2.0 GHz and on top of it Director also has nVIDIA GeForce
Go 9600M GS graphics card that will enhance graphics quality by many bounds. If
we talk about the feel, this comes with a sturdy structure with glossy finish.
Things that we were not impressed with include just 1 GB RAM, 160 GB HDD and
missing shortcut buttons. This laptop does not ship with any OS which was to be
purchased separately.

We tested the performance of this machine using PC Mark 05, 3D Mark 06 and
Battery mark. The results were excellent. In PC Mark, the notebook scored 4619,
and 4220 was the score of 3D Mark. The good processing performance makes it
suitable for daily office work. The only parameter where this notebook lagged is
battery life. It was able to stand for only 1 hour and 30 minutes which is quite
low and clearly hampers its portability.

Bottomline: Given the sturdy design and high performance, this machine
can be used as desktop replacement in offices.
