There have been many rumours circulating, some of them fueled by the listings on various stores. A PlayAsia listing suggested a high price of $699 while another listing on Amazon France claimed it would be around EUR 499, which comes close to $560.

In addressing these rumours, former Xbox marketing lead and now Senior Product Manager at Amazon, Albert Penello said that there is “No way it's above $499”.

While even $499 seems higher as compared to the launch price of PS4 at $399, it is significantly cheaper than the launch price of PS3 at $599.

It should also be mentioned that the PS5 will come in two variants: a “digital” variant which will not have a Disc drive and a standard variant with a disc drive. It is being estimated that the Digital edition of PS5 might cost $50 less than the standard edition.

Looking at all these rumours, it would be safe to assume that the PS5 price might be between $500-600 at launch, although the prices in India will almost definitely be a bit higher.
