Valorant Closed Beta

Valorant is the newest kid on the esports block. The Tactical shooter by Riot has generated quite an interest in the game, from professionals and esports fans alike. And how interested people are can be shown by the fact that the Valorant closed beta streams on Twitch reached a total of 1.7 million peak viewers.

Riot had given away some closed beta keys to famous creators like Summit on to stream the game on Twitch. Top streamers playing the game, which plebs like us did not have access to, was surely a factor. But the bigger reason why Valorant reached that number is that some lucky viewers could get the keys for the closed beta from the Twitch drops. That means all you had to do to get the Valorant closed beta keys was to watch content creators on Twitch playing the game.

The game, however, did run into a few bugs, with many people complaining about not being able to start up the game. Valorant’s official Twitter handle has since Tweeted that all the bugs have been fixed.

The game hasn’t even been officially released and the debate about whether it will kill CS:GO has already started raging. It does not really bring new ideas to the table, but Riot is tackling the problems that have plagued the gamers, like cheating and slow servers, head on. Whether or not that will be enough, remains to be seen.
