With the massive success that Netflix’s Witcher was, it was imminent that season 2 would be released. In fact, season 2 for The Witcher was announced before season 1 was even released. Filming for the next season is well underway and Netflix has announced The Witcher Season 2 cast.
The Continent just got a little bigger. Here's the new cast of #TheWitcher Season 2:
Yasen Atour as Coen
Agnes Bjorn as Vereena
Paul Bullion as Lambert
Kristofer Hivju as Nivellen
Thue Ersted Rasmussen as Eskel
Aisha Fabienne Ross as Lydia
Mecia Simson as Francesca— NX (@NXOnNetflix) February 21, 2020
Henty Cavill was probably the only high profile actor in season 1. But The Witcher Season 2 will have another well known actor, Kristofer Hivju who played Tormind Giantsbane in Game of Thrones. He will play the character of Nivellen, who is a man living in Redania who was cursed to turn into a bear. Many of the above characters might also be familiar to gamers, like Eskel and Lambert, who are the two Witchers from the School of Wolf in Kaer Morhen, same as Geralt. Mecia Simson will play the role of Francesca Findabair, the sorceress and elf queen of Dol Blathana who established the Lodge of Sorceresses.
Interestingly, the casting for Vesemir is missing in the announcement. Mark Hamill had earlier showed interest in playing the character, but there is no confirmation for the same. Maybe Netflix is saving the best for last.
Earlier, Netflix had also announced an anime movie based on The Witcher.
In other news, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has made over $50 million in revenue on Steam. Last week it was reported that the game had reported an increase in sales by a whopping 554% in December. Looks like a lot of coins have been tossed to your Witcher.
The accumulated revenue from sales of The Witcher 3 on @Steam platform for the period of time between October 1st 2018 and today has exceeded 50M USD. As a result, we are now getting 80% on any subsequent sales of TW3 on Steam.
