New Update
The Witcher Anime

When The Witcher was announced for Netflix, I was a bit sceptical, being a hardcore fan. I got even more so when they announced that Cavill will be playing Geralt. But after watching the show, I must say it was a job well done. I can’t see anyone else who would have played the role better than Cavill. And it seems like so do a million others. The Witcher saw the biggest debut of a Netflix series. And Netflix has had a ton of series. And riding on its success, Netflix has announced that a Witcher anime movie is in the making.

The official announcement was made on Twitter. There isn’t a lot of information as of yet, but Lauren Hissrich, who is the showrunner for the series, will be involved in the team, though we do not know in what capacity. They also announced the Beau DeMayo will be in the team, who wrote The Betrayer Moon episode. You know, the one with the Striga.

But what is more exciting is that the studio which will make The Witcher Anime is the same studio that made Nickelodeon’s superhit series, The Legend of Korra. South Korea based Studio Mir will be taking up the animation duties for the show.

It is hard to say when the movie will be released, but we do know that it is called The Witcher: Nightmare of The Wolf and “will take us back to a new threat facing the Continent”.
