5G to launch in India: Will users get access

It has already been announced that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will introduce 5G services on 1 October in New Delhi during the India Mobile Congress (IMC). 5G is to launch in India by the PM of India. At the event, telecom providers such as Airtel and Reliance Jio will present and highlight their 5G services.

Several media agencies have stated that the Prime Minister would introduce 5G services from Reliance Jio and Airtel. Finally 5G is to launch in India for all the users in search of high connectivity speed.

Will users get access to 5G?

If you're asking if 5G services will be accessible to all users as soon as it is formally introduced, the answer is no. Instead, just a few towns would have access to 5G by Diwali, according to Airtel and Jio. Only by the end of 2023, more than a year from now, will the country as a whole roll out.

The CEO of Airtel recently informed consumers in a letter that 5G will roll out in just a few weeks and that the SIMs already support it. Similarly, Mukesh Ambani, the CEO of Jio, declared during the RIL AGM that Jio 5G services will be available by the end of 2023 to the masses.

Jio and Airtel are already preparing to roll out their 5G services, while Vi (Vodafone's proposal) lags. Regarding the cost, 5G plans are anticipated to be priced similarly to 4G plans. However, it's expected that telecom carriers would raise 5G service pricing. The costs of the 5G proposals from any telecom have not yet been made public.
