Now in its sixth generation, the Glass is designed to be thin, light and damage-resistant. Corning introduced the Gorilla Glass 6 in July of 2018, which is also the company’s most durable cover glass to date. The glass is widely used as cover glass in devices such as smartphones, media players, tablets and in few TV screens. The Corning Gorilla Glass 6 is more likely to withstand the deep scratches and cracks that ultimately could cause glass to fail.

According to a research, users accidentally drop their smartphone on average seven times a year. Thus, to improve the durability of cover glass, scientists at Corning have engineered an entirely new material to address the challenge of multiple drops. According to Corning’s lab tests, the Gorilla Glass 6 survived 15 drops from 1 meter onto rough surfaces and is two times better than the Gorilla Glass 5. And in the similar conditions, competitive glass compositions, such as soda lime and aluminosilicate, did not survive the first drop.

Few of the smartphones with Corning Gorilla Glass 6 include OnePlus 7, OPPO Reno, Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus, Samsung Galaxy Note 10, Asus 6Z, OPPO Reno 10x Zoom Edition, Samsung Galaxy S10, Oppo F9 Pro, Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus (Galaxy Note 10 Pro), OnePlus 6T. Thus if you regularly drop your phone, we recommend you to buy a smartphone which has Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection.

Today, Corning Gorilla Glass has been in over six billion devices by more than 45 major brands.
