Alcatel has announced its new smartphone IDOL 4 with numerous attractive features. It also comes bundled with one VR headset making it an attractive choice.
Alcatel and Blackberry are quite similar when it comes to design. However, the major difference in both the devices is back cover. Alcatel has used a 2.5D glass at the back while blackberry has rubberised matte cover which offers better grip.
Both devices are being manufactured by TCL and probably because the DTEK50 is a rebranded version of Alcatel Idol 4 and the company has reached an agreement with TCL (Alcatel OneTouch’s parent company) as its hardware partner for this device.

On the display front, Alcatel comes with 5.2-inch full-HD (1080x1920-pixel) IPS LTPS display. In terms of camera, the Alcatel Idol 4 has a 13-megapixel rear camera with touch focus and dual-LED flash. At the front, it sports 8-megapixel shooter.
The most impressive feature of this smartphone is its sound. The volume and the quality of sound output are both impressive. The phone comes preloaded with an app called Waves through which users can tweak several sound options.
Powered by Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow, Idol 4 runs on an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor with integrated Adreno 405 graphics and has 3GB of RAM.
The smartphone has 16GB of built-in storage, which is expandable (up to 512GB) using a microSD card. The smartphone draws its juice from a 2610mAh battery and supports Quick Charge version 2.0. In terms of connectivity options, it offers 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, USB OTG, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
The smartphone will be available in Gold, Dark Grey, and Metal Silver color variants.
The Alcatel Idol 4 will compete with Oppo F1s, Vivo V5, and Gionee S6s.
