After The International, it has kind of become a tradition for players to change teams. The post TI roster shuffles are always expected and TI9 was no exception. After TI9 there were many insider leaks of possible roster changes; some expected, some not. And most of them were true and have come to pass. But the news coming out of Alliance was definitely unexpected.

The Alliance roster had been consistent for two years and had seen tremendous growth. They had become one of the favourites and seemed to have a great future. Everyone was expecting the roster to stick together. The roster did stick together, but they have departed Alliance.

Alliance made a heartfelt announcement on their"> Facebook page regarding the development, saying, “We’ve worked hard to not give you this news, but sometimes things can’t work out the way you want them to.” They also revealed that all five of them; Boxi, Micke, Insania, Taiga and Qojqva will be joining another team for the current DPC season, though the team has not been revealed yet.

Owner, Coach and former TI winner Jonathan “Loda” Berg, said:

“Today is a sad day for Alliance because we’re parting ways with a team we love. All the hard work, long nights, happy times, but also devastating defeats. But we are also happy and proud to have gone through this journey together, to have been able to grow with them during such an important part of their careers.”

As for the future of Alliance, according to them, they're not going anywhere. In the official announcement, they said, “The International 10 will be played in Stockholm, Sweden – our home turf. With the departure of our Dota 2 team, this does not change our goal of playing at the main stage in Globen next TI. We are dedicated to our goal of building a new world-class roster and look forward to show you what’s next.”
