Garena Free Fire has been becoming a great alternative for mobile players in India who have trouble running PUBG Mobile on their smartphones. Launched as a clone to PUBG Mobile, Free Fire has been the second most famous battle royal game on the Google Playstore. In countries of Latin America like Brazil, Garena Free Fire dominates the charts as being the preferred choice of the players. In India however, Free Fire was a little slow when it came to dominate the charts of Google Playstore as PUBG Mobile had already established itself in the country.

Now it seems like that is about to change. With the rumors going around of PUBG Mobile getting banned and anti-China sentiment on the rise in the country, a lot of players are quitting PUBG Mobile and moving to other battle royal games. Garena has already taken note of this changing landscape and has started to target the former PUBG Mobile players to start playing Free Fire. Garena Free Fire has already released videos on their youtube channel targeting the Indian players.

This is actually a very smart move by Garena. Free Fire has always positioned itself as a rival to PUBG Mobile everywhere. From Facebook to Instagram you can find pages after pages that are comparing the two games with each other. Garena Free Fire had previously launched a campaign for Indian players called No Battery? No Problem! Free Fire #IndiaKaBattleRoyale. The ad film was not that impressive but it did show Garena’s intent in getting a bigger player base in India. Now with players of PUBG Mobile quitting the game, it remains to be seen if the next big battle royal giant in India is Free Fire or Call of duty mobile.

Garena is a game publisher that is based in Singapore. It has a huge following in many Asian and Latin American countries. Garena also is the publisher of PUBG Lite PC game in many countries and in India Garena is already positioning Free Fire as the next big game. It seems like the battlegrounds are just heating up.
