Apple discontinues iPhone 13 Mini After Launch of iPhone 15 Series

The brand-new iPhone 15 series was formally introduced by Apple on Tuesday at its headquarters in Cupertino, California. The Tim Cook-led business unveiled the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max, four new iPhone models. The firm also introduces Air Pods Pro with USB-C charging, Apple Watch Series 9, Apple Watch Ultra 2, and Apple Watch Series 9. Following issues with EU authorities, Apple also changed the charging ports on all four iPhones from Lightning to USB-C.

With the introduction of the new iPhones, Apple has also had to discontinue its iPhone 13 small smartphone. The iPhone 13 mini was first offered in 2021 for $699, and in 2022 the price was reduced by $100.

After discontinuing production of the iPhone 13 mini, Apple no longer has a 5.4-inch smartphone in its lineup. The company already started moving away from the mini-series last year when it didn't announce the iPhone 14 mini when the iPhone 12 mini was pulled from stores. The list of compatible iPhones includes iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 13 Mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone SE 2022 (3rd generation), iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

According to CIRP, a research firm cited by Macrumors, iPhone mini sales were lower than other iPhone models, accounting for only about 3% of total iPhone 13 sales in the US in the first quarter of 2022.
