Mobile esports are finally getting traction and mobile and gaming companies are capitalizing on that fact. The market for gaming phones has opened up with Razer, Blackshark and Asus’s gaming division, ROG jumping into the market. Asus came up with their own ROG Phone almost a year ago, and now they have launched ROG Phone II, with two variants: one with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, and the other with 12GB RAM and 512GB storage.

Here is everything you need to know about ROG Phone II:

Specs and Features:

ROG Phone II will have the Snapdragon 855+, which is the overclocked version of Snapdragon 855. Which means that the clockspeed has been increased to 2.96 GHz from 2.84Ghz which in turn has increased the clock speed of Adreno GPU to 672Mhz from 585 Mhz. This makes ROG Phone II the most powerful smartphone in the market right now.

Another unique feature is this phone’s display. It has a 6.59” Full HD+ AMOLED display. But that is not all. The refresh rate of the phone’s display is 120 Mhz with a response time of 1ms. This gives it a really smooth feel, which is perfect for gaming.

The phone runs on Android 9 Pie based Zen UI 6. The users will have the option to switch between Zen UI or ROG UI theme, which is more gaming oriented. The phone will also feature Armory Crate, which will let you monitor RAM and CPU usage, adjust the Air Triggers 2, RGB Lighting and much more.

If you are going to buy this phone for gaming, you probably wouldn’t care much for the camera. But the camera is top of the class nonetheless. ROG Phone II uses the same camera setup as Asus 6z, which is the company’s current flagship model. It has a dual camera setup with a primary 48 MP camera with Sony IMX586 sensor and 13 MP ultrawide angle lens. The front camera is 24MP/4C.

When it comes to a gaming phone, it needs to have a beefy battery. But ASUS has gone above and beyond and provided this phone with a 6000 mAh battery, which takes the phone’s weight to 240g. The battery can support upto 30W Hypercharge for fast charging.
