There had been rumours that Blizzard would be going all in at BlizzCon this year. And all of them have proven to be true.

The biggest announcement this year was that of Overwatch 2. It was almost already confirmed by ESPN that it would be announced, but Overwatch Director Jeff Kaplan also revealed a few more details regarding the game. For starters, the new game will have all the heroes from the previous game and will also get a new 6v6 game mode called “Push”. Overwatch 2 will also have a co-op PvE story mode which will be one of the game’s new focus. Four players will play together in the PvE mode and will take on the role of one of the members of Overwatch. It will have a progression system as well, where they will be able to customize their characters and earn new abilities. But Blizzard hasn’t forgotten the players of Overwatch 1. Players from the original Overwatch will have access to all the new maps in Overwatch 2 and even all the new heroes. Players will even be able to transfer their cosmetics from Overwatch1 to Overwatch 2.

The second big announcement from Blizzard was that of Diablo IV. The announcement was made by revealing a lengthy 9 minute cinematic trailer that shows that Lilith has been summoned from Hell. The trailer is pretty gory and fantastic and according to Game Director Luis Barriga, “We are going back to the franchise’s darker roots. It’ll mean blood and gore. It’ll mean occult symbols and rituals.”

The third big announcement at BlizzCon was that of World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. The trailer shows Sylvanas fighting the current Lich King Bolvar and claiming his crown to open the gates to Shadowlands. Shadowlands is basically the realm of the dead in World of Warcraft. It will also be the first expansion where the Void Lords make their appearance.
