Available on both Android and iOS users, consumers who wish to use the Dark Mode on the above-said apps need to have iOS 11 or higher and Android 10 on their phones.

‘We’ve started rolling out dark mode for Gmail in the latest update. You should see an option to enable it if you have iOS 11+/Android 10+ soon,’ Google tweeted.

While Google has rolled out system-wide dark mode with the release of Android 10 update, still very few users are able to access the Dark Mode. And for the Dark Mode feature in Maps, Google has already started testing this feature. While navigating via Maps, battery drain comes as a critical issue, Google’s Dark Mode will let you save on battery too as a whole of the interface will be transformed into black and white.

Apart from Google and Instagram, popular instant messaging app WhatsApp has also rolled out Dark Theme on its platform. The mode does a cosmetic change to the app making the backgrounds black to allow for easy viewing in the dark environments.

And if you want to enable Dark Mode on the Instagram app, you are required to download the latest version of the app from the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. Keep in mind that the Dark Mode isn’t a standalone feature within the app, however, it largely depends on the theme of the device you’ve set. Simply turn on the dark theme of your phone and Instagram will be automatically updated to the new theme.
