Fortnite Announces #Freefortnite Cup on August 23 Protesting iOS Ban

Epic Games have taken a new route to take on Apple banning Fortnite on iOS. A twitter post on the official handle of Fortnite announced the #FreeFortNite cup tournament on the 23rd of August. A blog post on the Epic Games news section explained what the tournament is about. The #FreeFortNite cup tournament will start on the 23rd of August and all the players across platforms will be able to participate in it except players who are on the iOS platform. The blog post also said that players who will participate in the #FreeFortNite cup tournament will get more rewards in the game and it will be more than ever before including the new Tart Tycoon Outfit, gaming hardware, and exclusive apparel.

Epic Games Free Fortnite Cup Announcement and Details:

The Free Fortnite Cup is going to be a huge event in Fortnite's history. There are in-game rewards for participating in the event but also giveaways in which Epic Games will be giving away 1,200 pieces of gaming hardware (phones, consoles, and PC’s). This event is clearly a jab to Apple's ban on Fortnite and users who are participating in the event will also get skin in the game that is showing a suited up Apple who looks more like a villain. Also, Epic Games are calling players participating in the Free Fortnite Cup "Apple Eaters" which is interesting, to say the least. To participate in the Free Fortnite cup tournament players have to follow the steps given below.

• Check the in-game compete tab to see when the Free Fortnite cup event is starting in your region.
• The event will be four hours long and all the players who are eligible to participate will be able to compete.
• Compete as a Solo player in up to 12 matches.
• Players will get 1 point for every 3 minutes in a BR match.
• 1 point when a player takes out an opponent from the match.
• Each victory royal will get players 10 points.

Players who come out in the top 1,200 Free Fortnite cup will be eligible to receive these prizes:

• Samsung Galaxy Tab S7
• OnePlus 8
• PlayStation 4 Pro
• Xbox One X
• Nintendo Switch
