To protect privacy, Epic emphasized that audio clips will not be stored indefinitely. Instead, they are stored locally on the user's device and device unless they are presented as evidence. Epic assures users that each new recording will automatically overwrite the previous one, ensuring that only the last five minutes will be understood.

Normally, audio clips are automatically deleted after 14 days or when the reported issue is resolved. If the accused player appeals within this period, the suspension can be extended for another 14 days. However, Epic undertakes to preserve audio clips in accordance with the law.

Epic isn't the only one with these improvements; other game companies like Microsoft, Activision and Sony have already taken steps to add such things to their platforms. Epic's latest approach brings Fortnite in line with moves on other platforms.
