The first iteration of Fortnite’s open for all competition had a prize pool of $1million. Winter Royale 2019, though, will have a total prize pool of $15million.

The $15M will be distributed over 3 days with a prize pool of $5M for each day. All the days will have different platform specific competitions across all the server regions. Platform specific competitions mean that players on consoles will not be matched against players on PCs. Winter Royale 2019 will be a Duos competition and additional in-game rules and events will be posted soon by Epic. Also, anyone can participate in the tournament. Winter Royale 2019 will take place from December 20th  – December 22nd.

The ending of Chapter 2: Season 1 will also bring with it the Fortnite Championship Series Finals which will kick off on December 6th. Unlike Winter Royale 2109, only the players who have achieved the Champion status in Arena mode will be able to participate in it. Arena mode is basically Fortnite’s ranked mode. Users who have linked their Epic accounts to their Twitch accounts will be able to claim the event exclusive Spray and Banner. You will have to be tuned into Twitch and watching the FNCS on the channels listed on the official blog the receive the drops.
