It's worth noting that the Pixel 8 Pro's ultra-wide-angle lens contradicts an earlier leak that suggested a 64-megapixel sensor. Additionally, the Pixel 8 Pro will have an IR thermometer, according to a previous leak. Both devices are powered by Google's Tensor G3 SoC.

Price increase in US market

There is also a new report that points to a price increase for both devices in the US market. According to a report by 9to5Google, the Pixel 8 will start at $699 (roughly Rs. 58,055), while the Pixel 8 Pro will be priced at $999. That's $100 more than the original Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro prices. Earlier, the report suggested that Google should also increase the prices of the Pixel 8 series devices in Europe.

The price hike comes after Google raised the price of the Pixel 7a by $50 over the Pixel 6a. However, in the case of the Pixel 7a, the price increase was due to several major hardware upgrades, such as a new camera sensor, 90Hz display and wireless charging. It's not yet clear what hardware upgrades the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro will offer.

However, the leaks suggest that the primary camera sensor of both the devices may not change. Other rumored updates include selfie camera autofocus and the Pixel 8's ultra-wide sensor, as well as a new and improved Tensor G3 chip.

It's also worth noting that the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro still offer 128GB of storage in the base model. In contrast, many other flagships such as the Samsung Galaxy S23 and iPhone 15 Pro Max now start at 256GB.
