The most-liked gaming tweet ever set by Rockstar Games was destroyed when it revealed that the first trailer for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto (GTA) game would be released in December of this year.
Since then, the November 8 announcement on X has received over 1.5 million likes, 55,000 comments, and 506,000 retweets. The tweet broke Rockstar Games' previous record in five hours with over a million likes and 80 million views, demonstrating the fervor for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto game.
Rockstar Games is known for bringing legendary games like Grand Theft Auto Franchise and Red Dead Redemption to life. For the uninitiated, GTA V is the second best-selling video game of all time, with over 185 million copies sold across platforms.
With worldwide sales of nearly $8 billion, it is one of the most financially successful products of all time. The strategic timing of the trailer's release, coinciding with Rockstar Games' 25th anniversary, adds further significance.
Company’s statement on release
Although the release date of the GTA 6 trailer has not yet been announced, Rockstar Games announced on November 8, 2023 that it will be revealed in early December. Thanking the community for their support and sharing for the upcoming 25th anniversary, Rockstar said the following in its official statement:

After announcing their founding in 1998, the developers shared their plans to release the first official Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer as follows:
"We are very excited to announce that we will be releasing the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto in early December. We look forward to many more years of sharing these experiences with all of you." Although there is no other official confirmation about the upcoming title yet, it seems that fans can expect something from it according to a recent report.
