Netflix’s The Witcher has proven to be immensely successful, with the series catapulting the sales of The Witcher 3. Taking a cue from Netflix, HBO announced that they are now developing a Last of Us series, with the producer of Chernobyl and Game of Thrones, Carolyn Strauss and Craig Mazin, the producer of Chernobyl.
The two will be joined by Neil Druckmann, VIce president of Naughty Dog, the studio that developed the game, who will be the Executive Producer along with Strauss.

“Neil Druckmann is without question the finest storyteller working in the video game medium, and ‘The Last of Us’ is his magnum opus,” said Craig Mazin. “Getting a chance to adapt this breathtaking work of art has been a dream of mine for years, and I’m so honored to do it in partnership with Neil.”

Last of Us has been one of the most critically and commercially successful game on PlayStation. It follows Joel, a middle aged man and Ellie, a teenager through a post apocalyptic US which is ravaged by a zombie infection. The game was praised for its narrative. With the production in such capable hands, we can expect the Last of Us series to be a well made transition of the game.
