Microsoft’s Windows 10 May 2019 Update is available to download for users. After months of testing, Microsoft is letting anyone download the latest Windows 10 update. For uninitiated, the Windows 10 May 2019 Update comes with a new light theme, a Windows Sandbox feature, and even kaomoji like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and also has quicker access to symbols.

And similar to previous updates, Microsoft is rolling out this update too in phases, so you might not see it instantly on your machine. To check for the update, go to Settings tab then to Update and Security then click on the Windows Update to see if the update is available. If the new update is not listed, here is how you can still download it on your PC.

First download the Update Assistant from Microsoft’s website

Launch the Windows10Upgrade.exe file

Click ‘Update Now’

If Microsoft’s finds your device as being compatible to the Windows 10 May 2019 update, the next button will let you start the upgrade.

And if you encounter an error during download, do check for ‘BattlEye’ as Microsoft has started blocking devices running older versions of the BattlEye anti-cheat software installed. Thus, if an error pops up saying you can’t upgrade, check for games that need an update. On the other hand, you can also uninstall BattlEye (removal .exe tool) and then restart your game to get the latest version.

Do keep in mind there is no USB storage devices such as an external USB device or SD memory card attached during the installation of the Windows 10 May 2019 Update, the company has included an unusual block in this update.
If you’re still unlucky to get the update, go to Microsoft’s new Windows release dashboard that lists known issues and offers a solution on the rollout of the Windows 10 May 2019 Update.
