Huawei today launched two new smartphones in Indian market under its global brand Honor. The smartphones; Honor 6 Plus and Honor 4X are priced a at Rs 26,499 and Rs 10,499 respectively.
We attended the launch event in New Delhi and here is the first look of both the smartphones.
Honor 6 Plus
Honor 6 Plus features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1920x1080p) In-cell display which looked quite crisp. The images, icons, texts and pictures were very sharp and clear.
The smartphone is powered by a 1.8 GHz Kirin 925 octa-core processor with 3 GB of RAM for multitasking. There is Mali-T628 GPU to handle graphical intensive tasks. You get 32GB internal storage which is expandable up-to 128 GB via microSD card.
The smartphone has a dotted pattern at the back, which displays a sparkling effect when light hits the surface at a particular angle. The built quality is quite decent and the smartphone also felt light in hands.
One of the striking feature of Honor 6 Plus is its 8MP bionic parallel dual-lens rear camera with a dual-LED flash. It has a fast focus of 0.1 seconds and an aperture of f/0.95 for more panoramic depth. You can click a picture and then reset the focus area according to your choice. We tested the mode and found it quite effective. Then there is HDR, filters and a dedicated mode for low light photography which is also very effective. You also get an 8MP front-facing camera.
The phone runs Android 4.4 KitKat with Huawei's Emotion UI 3.0 running on top. It comes packed with a 3600mAh battery unit. For connectivity, the Honor 6 supports 3G, Wi-Fi, 4G LTE (with support for both TD LTE and FDD LTE bands), Bluetooth and GPS.
Honor 4X
The budget smartphone, Honor 4X sports a 5.5-inch IPS HD (720x1280p) display which is also of decent quality. It is not very sharp as the large 5.5" panel with just 720p resolution showed signs of pixelation at a closer look.
It is backed up by a 64-bit 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor and Adreno 306 GPU. There is 2GB RAM for multitasking and 8GB internal storage which can be expanded up-to 32 GB via microSD card.
At the back is a 13MP camera with LED flash which was able to click good pictures. However, we will give you the complete review in the coming week. There is a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calling.
The smartphone comes with a 3000mAh battery unit and integrates 3G, Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth and GPS for connectivity. Honor 4X also supports dual-sim capability with each sim supporting all Indian 4G bands.
Here you can check both the smartphones side be side.
The smartphones can be purchased exclusively on Flipkart. The Honor 6 Plus will be available from April, while the registration for the budget smartphone, Honor 4X starts today itself. It will go on sale on March 30th.
The company also said that the smartphones will come with a free screen replacement offer, which is valid for the first month of purchase. And the package also includes 'app gifts' from Hungama, Yatra and other services.
