HP, Dell and Lenovo ruled the commercial PC segment

Apart from brand name and quality of product, after sales service is more important than initial price while selecting any brand of Server.

Whether the laptop, PC or server, Dell is the leading brand. Surely server isn’t a thing to buy every year or so, once purchased it can run for many years. That’s why you can see some of the old servers still being used.

Like last year, once again, Dell is the champion brand in the server category followed by HPE. So, in terms of winner and first runner up nothing has changed, but the second runner up is now Lenovo, ahead of Cisco.

In the Familiarity Index for Server category, we got some interesting results. The first three brands are all apart by just one point each: Dell–90, HPE–89 and Lenovo–88. Cisco is next and way behind with a score of 36. Then comes Oracle with a score of 31.

Two in every three users would consider Dell while buying their next Server.

In the Spontaneous Awareness of brands, Dell shared the same score with Lenovo: 99%,meaning both the brands have great recognition in the market. HPE is a few steps behind, with a score of 92% followed by Cisco with a score of 80%and Oracle with a score of 72%.

Which brand’s server is dominating the current market? The answer is HPE. Interestingly, it is followed by Lenovo and Dell. Oracle and Cisco are sharing the same score: 5%.

Though, currently HPE has captured the maximum market share, the future looks to Dell. Lenovo seems like gaining more than HPE, but the difference is very marginal. Dell got the winner’s spot with the score of 66% followed by Lenovo53%, HPE52%, Cisco13% and Oracle9%.

Even last year, Dell was the winner of future preference followed by HPE. This time HPE slipped to the third spot and Lenovo gained some ground.

Why is Dell the winner? Here is the answer: Our participants trust this brand, its quality, and even the price point of Dell servers is appealing. HPE is favoured for its brand name and quality, Lenovo for brand name and after sales support/service. Oracle and Cisco are considered for after sales support/service.
