The next Spider-Man 2 game update is scheduled for release in early 2024, according to Insomniac Games. Players have been anxiously awaiting new features, which should be released with the Game+ update, according to a statement Insomniac put on X (previously Twitter).
Developers, however, state that they are aiming for an early 2024 release since they need more time to polish the upgrade before gamers can access it.
"We have been diligently developing these features and need additional testing to make sure the quality meets our expectations," Insomniac Games stated in the release. "We are now targeting Early 2024 for the next game update and we'll have a feature-complete list closer to its release."
Updated Spider-Man 2 features
Developers have hinted that Spider-Man 2's upcoming PS5 update will include more than just New Game+. The update includes several fan-requested features, such as the ability to change the time in the city, change the colors of the tentacles when using the symbiote power, and repeat certain missions. According to the studio, these features are just some of what they have planned for the game and future updates.
"We've heard your feedback and are adding some highly requested features like the ability to change the time, change tentacle colors, and replay missions - just to name a few!" the developer wrote in a statement.
"We can't wait to share more with you in the future," said Insomniac. "In the meantime, we appreciate your patience as our team works to complete the next update for Marvel's Spider-Man 2!"
Marvel Spider-Man 2 expands Marvel's New York City, doubling its size to include Queens and Brooklyn. Players can switch between Peter Parker and Miles Morales in the open world. The game features new gameplay, abilities, gadgets, and 65 suits, including a brand-new feature called Suit Styles. Kraven the Hunter and Venom join forces with the villain.
