Jio TV Plus Is Based on Android Find Out the Set Top Box Specifications

Jio Tv Plus was announced on the recent Reliance AGM 2020. A brand new Android tv based service that will offer the users access to multiple OTT services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Voot, Hotstar, and many more all in one platform. The unique feature of Jio Tv Plus is that it will be integrated with the all-new Jio ecosystem that will make it seamless for consumers. Jio Tv Plus will be available to the consumers through the Jio Set-top box. Jio Tv Plus is based on the Android Tv platform like you see on many smart TVs. Unlike most smart tv it looks like Jio Tv Plus will be using its own User Interface. Not only that but in the Livestream and on the Jio Developers website Jio is pushing for more apps to be developed for Jio Tv Plus. Jio is trying to create it's very own ecosystem of apps for Jio Tv Plus instead of relying on Google android apps. It does make sense for Jio to push for apps on Jio Tv Plus since Android Tv still doesn't have a proper app integration. Only a few apps are available on Android tv and most of them are either games or streaming apps. 

Jio Tv Plus Set-top box STB specifications:

Like most devices that offer this functionality Jio Tv plus will also work through a set-top box. The Jio set-top box will run on Android but the version still remains unclear. It does support android version 9 and above. There is 2GB of ram and 8GB of internal memory. The STB supports dual-band wifi and Bluetooth 4.0. There is also an ethernet port if you want to connect it directly from the modem or router. There is an HDMI port, a USB port, and a 3.5 mm port as well.  The Jio STB also supports 5.1 audio output. There is also a tv tuner built in the set-top box so you can even connect it with your DTH provider to watch your usual tv channels if you want to.
