KFC Dating Sim

Yes, you read that right. There really is a KFC Dating Sim on Steam, where players have to try and win Colonel Sander's heart. And it isn't made by a hobbyist looking for some weird fun by making a weird game, it is actually made by KFC. The game is called "I Love You, Colonel Sanders."

In the game, players must choose one out of nine available characters and try to impress Colonel Sanders with their cooking skills and dialogue choices. It is a parody of Japanese text based dating sims. These dating sims have become hugely popular in Japan and many feature explicit and suggestive content. The KFC Dating Sim doesn't contain such explicit content but it is rife with stereotypical anime tropes (including the opening) and references to other popular dating sims.

Throughout the game you will have to make decisions based on which Colonel Sanders might either date you or not. As the description on Steam says "Throughout your journey, you’ll be faced with life-changing decisions that will affect your chances of friendship and love. But be careful! Your choices have real consequences with real animated characters’ feelings at stake."

As you can already guess, the game takes itself very lightly. Even though this is very clearly a marketing tactic by KFC, real work was put into the game, as can be seen by the quality of animation and the fact that the game has an original storyline and an ending. KFC hired Psyop to develop the game, who have previous experience in text based adventure games, courtesy to Camp W. Their first game, Kismet has a "Very positive" rating on steam. I don't really know how bad or good the game could be, but it certainly won't harm your health like a whole bucket of fried chicken would.
