LG Velvet Launched in India at Rs 36,990 with Snapdragon 845

LG Velvet is now officially launched in India but interestingly with the previous-gen Snapdragon 845 processor. The device will be available in India for Rs 36,990. Alongside the LG Velvet, there is another smartphone that LG is launching called the LG Wing dual-screen smartphone that will have a swivel display design. LG Velvet on the other hand is a regular-looking smartphone with a single 6.8-inch FHD+ POLED display with a waterdrop notch atop for the selfie camera. LG first revealed the Velvet in May and at the time the device had the Snapdragon 765 with 5G support. This is the exact reason why the Indian LG Velvet coming with the previous generation Snapdragon 845 processor is interesting. Some of the key features of the Velvet include IP68 design, military-grade compliance, 48MP triple rear camera setup, and a 4,300mAh battery.

LG Velvet India Unit Specifications:

This is a dual sim smartphone running on Android 10 with LG UI on top. The display is a 6.8-inch full HD+ pOLED display with 20:5:9 aspect ratio, 1080 x 2460 resolution, LG Dual Screen functionality support, and a waterdrop notch to house the selfie camera. Under the hood, the LG Velvet is running on Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with 6GB of Ram and 128GB of storage with support for expansion via MicroSD card. The LG Velvet also supports 5G, 4G, NFC, and also has a USB Type-C port.

At the back of the device, there is a triple camera setup with a 48MP being the primary sensor. Then an 8MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 5MP depth sensor. LG also has added several features to the LG Velvet to make the camera justify the older processor and the price tag under LG Creator’s Kit. This includes ‘steady cam’ to shoot steady HD videos, ‘Video Depth control’, and ASMR recording for ‘crystal’ clear sound. The front camera is a 16MP shooter. There is an in-display fingerprint scanner. The battery of the device is a 4300mAh unit with fast wired and wireless charging support.  The speakers of the smartphone also have LG 3D Sound Engine for better acoustics. The handset is IP68 water and dust certified as well.

LG Velvet price in India, sale date, availability

LG Velvet will come in six different color options Aurora White, Aurora Gray, Aurora Green, Aurora Silver, Illusion Sunset, and New Black. The price of Velvet is set at Rs. 36,990. The device will go on sale in India on October 30th.
