Solution Requirement

Mangalam Cement sought to gain operational efficiencies with an integrated platform across various departments for fast decisions based on timely business insights.

Establish a standardized platform that provides accountability and transparency across the business.

Drive margin-efficiency improvement through cost optimization across business functions such as logistics, procurement, and operations.

Create a single integrated system for financials and operations

Solution Deployment

Mangalam Cement decided to deploy the SAP S/4HANA Enterprise Management solution at 4 plants, 2 captive power plants, 13 windmills, 2 captive mines, and 55 distribution centres. The deployment was supported by the SAP Enterprise Support advisory team and EY. Now MCL has evolved into an information-centric organization where decisions are driven by real-time data insight. MCL is enhancing critical business processes such as procure to pay, order to cash, and design to deliver.

The integrated IT platform positions Mangalam Cement to drive operational efficiencies and productivity and ultimately gain market share, all while delivering products to its consumers. In addition, the company has integrated SAP S/4HANA with the shop-floor programmable logic controller to accurately measure the volume of cement produced and weighbridges to measure freight movement.

Solution Benefits

• Engaged the SAP Enterprise Support advisory team and EY for implementation support, which was completed in six months

• Transitioned to decision making based on data-driven insights

• Created an interface to understand the volume of cement produced daily, minus moisture content, to achieve the right costing model

• Established an interface to prevent extra material dispatch
