The Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker promotions are in full swing. The final instalment in the new Star Wars trilogy will release on 20th December and they are leaving no stones unturned to appeal to the younglings and seasoned veterans alike. In the latest promotion, Mark Hamill, who plays the central character of Luke Skywalker, will be joining Ninja to play some Fortnite on Xbox Sessions.
In a recent Tweet, Mark Hamill shared a promotional clip which shows him playing Fortnight with Ninja on Xbox Sessions. For those who do not know, Xbox Sessions is a series in which celebrities show off their gaming skills on Xbox. Previously, big names such as Lil Yachty have played NBA 2k19 and Logic has played Battlefield V on the web series. Last time Ninja was on Xbox Sessions, he played Fortnite with Ellen DeGeneres.
Christmas wish in 3, 2, 1… Wait until you see what @Ninja and I have planned with @FortniteGame and @Xbox on Thursday. It’s going to be….Amazing! (and I’ll try not to make a fool of myself) #XboxPartner pic.twitter.com/A9SddlqV4S

Fortnite has been one of the big ways through which Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker is being promoted. The game collaborated with LUCASFILMS to add Light Sabers, TIE fighter crash sites and a Star Wars glider. There are many clips floating on the internet of players dropping their loots and engaging in Light Saber duels in Fortnite. There was also an exclusive trailer which was premiered in game.
This is a big pickup for Epic, since Mark Hamill playing Fortnite will expose the game to the older generation. And he has a global appeal. It is also a great opportunity for LUCASFILMS, since one of the best sci-fi movies ever made will be introduced to young kids who play Fortnite throughout the world.
There have been various tweets on the internet, which show how the parents, who are Star Wars Fans and children, who are Fortnite fans, spent time together to witness the unveiling of the trailer in game. But my favorite has to be this one:
I’ve tried to get my son into Star Wars for 7 years.
Seven. Years.
I took him to galaxy edge and we flew the Millennium Falcon together.
the. Millennium. FALCON.
Then Fortnite gives him a lightsaber and within 12 hours my son watches two Star Wars and buys Battlefront II
