WhatsApp is developing new features for text formatting. Following the introduction of tools like italics, bold, strikethrough, and monospace text styles, the chat application is about to provide new, better formatting options aimed at enhancing user interaction. This change was disclosed in a recent WhatsApp Desktop beta release, and WaBetaInfo was the first to report it.

New capabilities are anticipated to initially be added to the WhatsApp Desktop beta before being expanded to the WhatsApp beta for iOS and Android platforms as WhatsApp prepares to release better formatting features aimed at helping users interact more efficiently.

What’s the code black feature for Developers?

One of the best tools  is the “Code Block” feature, which can  be useful for  developers, programmers and technicians. With the Code Block feature, WhatsApp wants to make sharing and reading lines of code in the app smoother and more  reader-friendly. The tool helps solve the frustrating problem of complex code fragments. Another notable addition is the “Quote” feature, which aims to change the way  users react to certain messages or replies in a chat.

WaBetaInfo points out that this differs from the current quote message feature in that it allows users to highlight specific texts for reference. The tool helps users to quote  specific text and reply directly to it. The trio of future tools is completed by the ability to create a list of items, further improving the organization of chat information.

The new tools are expected to come to WhatsApp Desktop beta first and then expand to  WhatsApp beta for iOS and Android platforms.

Other Features with shared photos

WhatsApp also aims to edit the captions of shared photos, videos, GIFs and documents. The new feature helps users edit photos, videos, GIFs and documents up to 15 minutes after pressing the send button. The feature is designed to fix typos and is available to beta users of the app on iOS and Android devices.
