The news was initially reported by Video Games Chronicles. They claim that according to their sources, who are part of the development team, that Warzone will release in March, most probably on March 10th. This is corroborated by various leaks that have been doing the rounds and a now removed video (due to a copyright claim) of what are possibly the training grounds of Warzone.

VGC further says that a free standalone version for Warzone will also be released which will also have the option to ‘upgrade’ to the full version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The game will be instantly available to the owners of MW and the battle pass will also be integrated into the battle royale mode.

Their sources also claim that marketing efforts for Warzone will begin next week, with content creators being brought into the offices of the developers.

According to past datamines and leaks, it will be a 200 player battle royale and will feature the same ping system as Apex Legends.  The game will also apparently feature perks just like Blackout does and will have solo, duos and squad modes as well.
