Consumers and people have always been very sceptical of the sub-10k segment and there are multiple reasons for that. To start with, the question of whether or how long will it last, how durable is it and for how long can it sustain its initial power and performance. However, the launch of the new Moto e7 power might take the focus off of most of these questions and here's why:

The phone strikes a good balance between power and performance. It is powered by the MediaTek Helio g85 octa-core processor. The processor might not look very powerful but it is justified by the price of the phone. Phones in this price-segment do not come with flagship level performance and it will be highly unreasonable to expect something even remotely close to a mid-range performance.

The 6.5-inches Max vision HD+ display can provide a good media playback experience because of the 20:9 aspect ratio and a good screen to body ratio. The phone comes in 2 variants with 2 GB and 4 GB RAM configuration. The storage also has options of 32 GB and 64 GB, it can be expanded up to 1 TB via microSD card. You can store all your photos, videos and other files without thinking about running out of space.

Talking of photos and videos, the phone comes with 13-megapixels dual-camera with face detection auto-focus. The primary lens lets you click good photos in a snap. The secondary Macro Vision lens has 4x zoom and let's you get closer to your subject and capture all the details that you might want to capture.

The phone comes with IP52 water-repellant design which is not very common in this price range. You can move around with this phone without worrying about it being damaged or scuffed. Continuing on the physical front, the phone has a backmounted fingerprint scanner that is fast and responsive most of the time. The fingerprint scanner is in embedded in the logo at the back of the phone, no taking much room on the body of the phone.

To sustain this level of performance, power of equal stature is also required. The 5,000mAh battery can last you a good working day and even a full day on moderate use. Since the phone is not very high on hardware and is a very basic phone, the battery plays a major role in making this phone a good grab.

Adding more to the ease of usage, it has a dedicated Google Assistant button and Google Lens on-board. Google Assistant can be launched with the press of a button and Google Lens makes it easier for you to scan and search anything that your camera can capture. The phone runs on stock android meaning that there won't be any bloatware and ads on the device. This makes the user's experience simple and less cluttered.

The important thing to keep in mind is that it is a sub-10K category, therefore, expecting a great camera performance, gaming experience and speed would be highly unreasonable. This does not mean that this is not a capable phone. Users just need to chill with their expectations from budget-tech.

It is priced very competitively where the 2 GB / 32 GB variant is priced at INR 7,499 and the 4 GB / 32 GB variant comes at INR 8,299. The phone is set to be launched in 2 colour variants namely Tahiti Blue and Coral Red on 26. February 2021 at 12:00 noon exclusively on Flipkart and leading retail stores.
