The new smartphone gets a contemporary and trendy exterior. It also comes with a water-repellent coating to protect it from accidental water spills, splashes and little rain. The rear textured cover feels nice in the hand and gives a good grip. Though, its next-generation device but you can easily notice differences in the design as compared to the Moto X 2nd Gen smartphone. For instance, the camera section is placed on a rectangular strip of plastic with a minimal dimple, as opposed to the prominent Motorola dimple on second-gen Moto X. Also, the top portion has the dual SIM card and microSD card slot.

With the 5.5-inch FHD 1080p display, the phone has thin bezels in the sides whichmakes it more compact ans easy to hold. The Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protects the display from scratches and damages.

At the left side, the smartphone has the power/ standby and volume rocker buttons. The buttons feels good and have a good feedback.

The Moto X Play boasts 1.7 Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa core processor, Adreno 405 GPU, 2 GB RAM, 16/32 GB internal and option to expand the storage using a microSD card slot to upto 128GB.

The smartphone runs on the latest Android 5.1 OS with a special app called Moto Assist which lets you interact with

the phone via voice commands, set profiles according to locations, along with gesture support such as quick twist of the wrist to launch camera, Moto chop feature to launch the flashlight and so on.

For the seamless connectivity, Motorola added two nano SIM slots supporting 4G.

The Moto X Play has a 21 MP rear camera and a 5MP front facing camera. This time Moto have done a little tweaks in the camera user interface, as well as the camera comes with phase detect AF helping you quickly acquire focus.

It is equipped with a non removable battery of 3630mAh that company claims to run for up to 30 Hours without stopping to recharge.

With Turbopower charging, the phone gets up to 8 hours of battery life in just 15 minutes so you can quickly charge the phone before leaving home. But the phone doesnt come with the Turbo charger, you need to buy it separately.
