This way the smart download feature will help in enhancing the storage capacity of an Android mobile phone and tablet. Later, the feature will also be available for iOS users. The news was announced through a blog post, which was attributed to Cameron Johnson, Director of Product Innovation.

The download feature was initially introduced in 2016, which gave the video streaming giant the clarity of how much viewers love downloading and enjoy watching their favourite series on the go. Cameron stated in the blog post, ‘You watch, we do the work’.

He added, ‘We know how annoying it can be to go through all your apps and delete files you no longer need; we also understand that when it comes to Netflix, the faster you can get to the next episode you want to watch, the better. Whether it is smart downloading or viewing a mobile preview, we realize the best part of Netflix is connecting with the stories you will love in an easier and more fun way’.

Moreover, in case, one wants to re-watch previous episodes, one can also switch off the smart download feature.
