New Update
Netflix Christmas Holidate

October is almost here and it seems Netflix is going to start its preparation for the Holiday season a bit early. Netflix has dropped the trailer of its first holiday season release for the year 2020 and its a romantic comedy. Holidate starring Emma Roberts is your typical feel good romantic comedy that revolves around finding a date for the holidays. The Holidate trailer showcases Sloane played by Emma Roberts trying to find a date for the Christmas season and failing so miserably that her family has to step in. What transpires after that can be somewhat expected.

The synopsis of the movie says "Sloane (Emma Roberts) and Jackson (Luke Bracey) hate the holidays. They constantly find themselves single, sitting at the kids table, or stuck with awkward dates. But when these two strangers meet during one particularly bad Christmas, they make a pact to be each other’s “holidate” for every festive occasion throughout the next year. With a mutual disdain for the holidays, and assuring themselves that they have no romantic interest in the other, they become each other's perfect plus-one which leads to some hilarious and provocative hijinks. However, as a year of absurd celebrations come to an end, Sloane and Jackson find that sharing everything they hate may just prove to be something they unexpectedly love."

Holidate trailer gives the vibe of the Hallmark Christmas movies and maybe that was the goal itself. An Overworked and single girl who is unable to find a date for the holidays while her family all make jokes about her situation while simultaneously also telling her to find a man for herself. On the other hand, there is Jackson. He is your perpetually single dude who also is looking for love during the holidays. What transpires after is a platonic friendship that transforms into new found love.
