At MWC 2019, the Nokia 9 PureView created a lot of hype owing to its penta-camera system at the back powered by ZEISS Optics. Every picture taken with a Nokia 9 PureView is in HDR. The five cameras simultaneously capture the image and fuse it together into one 12MP photo with great dynamic range and depth of field. The phone also allows users to capture image in the uncompressed RAW DNG format.

The smartphone has two colour sensors and three monochromatic sensors. All the five sensors work together to collect up to 10-times the amount of light than a single colour sensor of the same type. Every image captured by the smartphone is HDR, with up to 12.4 stops of dynamic range and a full scene 12MP depth map.

The smartphone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset processor, a 2 pOLED “PureDisplay” screen, integrated Qi wireless charging, an in-display fingerprint sensor and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back. Additionally, the connectivity options on the Nokia 9 PureView include Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and NFC. The smartphone is IP67 certified for water and dust resistance and packs a USB Type-C port. There is no 3.5mm audio jack.
