OnePlus 12 is Now Oppo's 2nd Phone to Feature Sony LYT-808 Camera Sensor After OnePlus Open

With the Sony LYT-T808 primary camera sensor, OnePlus introduced the OnePlus Open, the company's first foldable phone, last month. The same sensor will soon be a feature of the Chinese smartphone manufacturer's future flagship device, the OnePlus 12, according to a report.

The Sony Lytia "Pixel Stacked" sensor will be included in the OnePlus 12, the business previously stated. The OnePlus 12 is anticipated to ship in the upcoming months. Recently, OnePlus confirmed on the Chinese social media site Weibo that the next smartphone would utilize a Sony LYT-808 sensor for the first time. A 64MP OV64B periscope telephoto lens will be included in the OnePlus 12 smartphone, the firm has recently disclosed.

In a Weibo post, OnePlus claims that both of these sensors are "masterpieces" in the field of flagship mobile sensors. The company also noted that these sensors also have similar imaging capabilities and are the world's leading motion imaging sensors. 

Compared to the 48-megapixel 1/1.43-inch LYT-T808 sensor used in the OnePlus Open, the company is said to be using a 50-megapixel 1/1.4-inch unit in the OnePlus 12 smartphone.

In addition, the upcoming smartphone also supports optical image stabilization (OIS) and the Hasselblad algorithm. The company also shared some samples of the OnePlus 12 camera, which confirms that the smartphone's camera will support f/1.6 aperture. OnePlus also compared one image with images taken from the iPhone 14 Pro. 

The OnePlus 12 also has a 1/2-inch 64-megapixel OV64B periscope telephoto lens. This sensor also supports a 70mm equivalent focal length, 3x optical zoom, f/2.6 aperture and OIS. The company also shared some camera samples with the smartphone's periscope camera.

OnePlus 12 Other Key Features

Additionally, OnePlus has already confirmed a BOE 2K "X1 (Eastern) Display" for the smartphone. The screen supports up to 2,600 nits of brightness and also features Oppo's first-generation self-developed image quality engine Display P1 chip. The OnePlus 12 has the latest flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.

The chipset is said to support up to 24GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. The smartphone is also expected to pack a 5,400mAh battery that supports 100W wired fast charging and 50W wireless fast charging.
