OnePlus CEO Pete Lau in a Weibo post has hinted that OnePlus 7 will come with truly-wireless ear buds just like Apple’s AirPods, Samsung’s Galaxy Buds and Google’s Pixel Buds. In the Weibo post, Lau emphasised on removing the headphone jack which will benefit the development of wireless ear buds.

In the same Weibo post, Lau also said that bullets wireless headphones that were launched with OnePlus 6, are light-weight and sturdy and offer good sound quality and go easy on your pocket. The Bullets Wireless headphones were not entirely wireless as the headphones were tied to each other by a neckband.

While the OnePlus 7 is still a couple of months away from being launched officially, but the phone has already drawn a lot of attention from its fans. The smartphone is expected to come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, up to 12GB RAM and will run on Android Pie-based OxygenOS.

There will be a 6.5-inch AMOLED screen and a triple-camera setup at the back consisting of 48MP, 20MP and 16MP lenses. According to the media reports, there will also be a 16MP motorised selfie camera at the front as seen in Vivo Nex, Vivo V15 Pro and Oppo F11 Pro.

Further, the OnePlus 7 will have 256GB of storage, a 4,000mAh battery and 44W dash charging support, but no wireless charging support yet.

‘The company shall not equip OnePlus devices with the wireless charging support until the consumers are ready to embrace that technology,’ Lau said in an interview to CNET.

OnePlus 7 is expected to launch sometime in May.

OnePlus is one such company that has always pushed high-end specs at an unbeatable pricing for the consumers which has given OnePlus a upper hand on both Samsung and Apple. Since its inception, OnePlus has become the fastest growing brand in the sub-40K price segment.
