And do they justify their price with the performance that they provide?

When it comes to the Indian market, price plays a major role. It is a price centric market, after all. OnePlus exhibited that the Nord 2 will start from INR 27K, but that is not the case. Since it is an Amazon exclusive phone, the only variant that is available on the website is 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variant that is sold for INR 30K. The base variant of the phone is not available online, and therefore you will have to spend more than the starting price to get your hands on the phone.

On the other hand, the POCO F3 GT comes at a price of INR 26K for the base variant, which is readily available online. You can add more discounts to this and get a better deal on the phone. If you go for an exchange, the price might lower even further.

The OnePlus Nord 2 starts at INR 28K for the base variant with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. The next variant with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage costs INR 30K and the top variant of the phone with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage comes at a price of INR 35K. The POCO F3 GT starts at INR 26K for the base variant with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. The next variant which costs around INR 28K comes with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. The top variant of the phone with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage comes at a price of INR 30K.

When it comes to pricing, the POCO F3 GT looks better, but the price is not everything. There are multiple other things to factor in other than price.

The design on both phones is unique and stands out. The OnePlus Nord 2 is designed the same as the previous generation Nord phone. The colour of the phone has been changed. There is nothing much to touch upon about the design of the OnePlus Nord 2. The design is simple and minimalistic. However, the design on the POCO F3 GT looks fresh. The in-hand feel of the phone is also very different from the other phones in the market. The design on the camera module has also been refreshed and now comes with RGB lighting. The flashlight is also made in a designed manner.

The camera bump on the POCO F3 GT is very flat and would not lift the phone up when kept on a flat surface. On the contrary, the camera bump on the OnePlus Nord 2 is big and the cameras also protrude outwards from the frame. The POCO F3 GT has also kept some gaming elements alive in the design. On the side, you get triggers that help you during your long hours of gaming.

The POCO F3 GT also comes with a triple microphone to enhance the audio output, whereas the OnePlus Nord 2 comes with only 2 microphones.

Display

The display is where you spend the most time on a smartphone, so that has to be good. The OnePlus Nord 2 comes with a 6.43-inch fluid AMOLED display. The 90Hz 2400x10180p display comes with HDR 10+ support. The pixel density of the display 441 ppi with a 20:9 aspect ratio. The display also has support for sRGB.

Talking about the POCO phone, it comes with a bigger 6.67-inch AMOLED FHD+ display. This 120Hz display also comes with HDR 10+ support. The normal brightness of the screen is 500nits and the peak brightness is 1300 nits, which is pretty bright even under direct sunlight. The display also comes with DC Dimming technology keeps the screen from flickering.

Processor

The processor on both the phones is the same. Both phones come with the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 5G. The GPU on both the phones is the Mali G77 MC9. Even though the processor on both the phones is the same, AnTutu says otherwise. The score on both the phones come out to be different. The score of the POCO F3 GT is 603618 whereas on the OnePlus Nord 2 it is 557269. The scores differ in Geek bench as well. Going by the scores of the phone, the POCO phone looks better at performance even with the same processor.

The gaming performance on both the phones is good, thanks to the Mali GPU. Games like BGMI and Call of Duty: Mobile run very smoothly on these phones. However, the gaming performance is still better on the POCO F3 GT because of the triggers that are provided on the side. The higher 120Hz refresh rate display also players a major role in making the experience even more immersive. Coming to the temperatures of the phones, the POCO phone does not show any signs of overheating, but the OnePlus phone sees a 6% rise in temperatures. One thing to note is that this is not uncomfortable and does not hinder with the experience.

Cameras

Just like gaming, the two phones come very close to each other when it comes to the camera performance. The OnePlus Nord 2 comes with a triple-camera setup with the primary camera being a 50MP shooter. It is supported by the 8MP wide and 2MP mono lens. The POCO F3 GT also comes with a triple-camera setup. The primary camera is a 64MP shooter, accompanied by the 8MP ultrawide and 2MP macro lens. The front of both the phones are also different. The OnePlus Nord comes with a 16MP selfie shooter, and the POCO phone comes with a 32MP selfie shooter.

The exposure in the images taken from the POCO phone is slightly higher than the OnePlus phone. Zooming on photos reveal that the OnePlus lacks details but the POCO does the job effectively. Both cameras come with optical image stabilization, so the video output is good.

Connectivity

The connectivity on both phones is top-notch. Both phones have support for dual 4G and dual Wi-Fi. The phones are 5G and come with enough 5G bands. However, it is crucial to note that 5G is still not very relevant in India, and it might take some time to establish a good infrastructure. It still does not change the fact that having a phone with good connectivity options ensures better cellular reception and call quality, along with better Wi-Fi reception.

Software

Software plays a very crucial role in making the end-user experience better. Since the merger with Oppo, users have been wondering if there will be any changes in the Oxygen OS. The Oxygen OS on the OnePlus Nord 2 has hints of the Color OS in it but this does not change the essence of the OS, it is still smooth, bloatware-free and responsive. The POCO phone comes with the MIUI 12.5 but the OS has been refined for the phone. Users can also uninstall unwanted applications from the phone. The bloatware on the phone has been reduced by the manufacturers, and there are no more useless notifications from MIUI.

Security

Our smartphones store a lot of our confidential information. This information needs to be secured. On the security front, both phones come with a face-scanner and fingerprint scanner. The position of the fingerprint scanner is different in both phones. The OnePlus Nord 2 comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner, and the POCO F3 GT comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The position should not be a problem, as different users prefer different things. However, personally, the side-mounted fingerprint scanner looks more convenient and responsive. The face scanner on both phones are responsive and do their job fine.

Battery

The OnePlus Nord 2 comes with a 4500mAh, dual-cell battery. The POCO phone, on the other hand, comes with a 5065 mAh battery but that it is not a dual-cell battery technology. Talking about chargers, the OnePlus Nord 2 comes with a 65W fast charger that can charge the phone from 0-100% in 40 minutes. On the other hand, the POCO F3 GT comes with a 67W charger and a larger battery that can go from 0-100% in 60 minutes. It also takes 15 hours to drain out completely, which is longer than the 13 hours of the OnePlus Nord 2.

To conclude, it can be said the POCO F3 GT takes a slight edge over the OnePlus Nord 2 but the final decision should be made by the users. One thing to keep in mind is that the base variant of the OnePlus Nord 2 is not readily available, but the base variant of the POCO F3 GT is available online as well as offline.
