Oppo and Realme, both have launched their mid-range smartphones – K3 and Realme X — that comes with improved designs overs their predecessors, pop-up cameras and more. Realme, also a brand of Oppo, has created a space for itself in the Indian smartphone market which was primarily ruled by Xiaomi. When launched in India, both the smartphones will go against each other. Here in this Oppo K3 vs Realme X comparison, we will look what each device has to offer.

Oppo K3 vs Realme X: Design and display

The Oppo K3 features an all-screen design thanks to the no-notch display. There is a 6.5-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. The smartphone comes with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9.

On the other hand, the Realme X offers a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, 6.53-inch full-HD+ AMOLED screen with a 91.2 per cent screen-to-body ratio. The NTSC colour gamut in the Realme X now reaches 100 per cent, giving a vibrant display, says Realme. The smartphone is further protected by Gorilla Glass, making it robust and durable.

Going by the display specs, Realme X will provide a rich viewing experience than the Oppo K3.

Oppo K3 vs Realme X: Specs and performance

The Oppo K3 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC clubbed with 6GB of RAM and has UFS 2.1 based 64GB, 128GB and 256GB storage options. And to amplify the gaming experience, the K3 comes with GameBoost 2.0 that also has Touch Boost and Frame Boost features. The device is powered by a 3,765 mAh battery that supports VOOC 3.0 fast charging support.

The Realme X is powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 710 SoC, but comes with an additional 2GB of RAM – 8GB and has dual-SIM (Nano) tray. The device runs on ColorOS 6.0 on top of Android 9 Pie. The smartphone is fuelled by a 3,765mAh battery with support for VOOC 3.0 fast charging.

In terms of real world performance, both the smartphone will run almost all your apps with the same efficiency, however the presence of additional 2GB of RAM in the Realme X gives it advantage over Oppo K3 while gaming or running heavy apps. Basic photo editing, working with spreadsheets and other documents will be a breeze on both these devices.

Oppo K3 vs Realme X: Camera

The Oppo K3 sports a dual camera setup at the back consisting of a 16MP primary camera and a 2MP secondary depth sensor. The camera app comes preloaded with features such as AI portrait mode, AI scene detection, Ultra Clear Night View 2.0. The pop-up camera can lift itself in 0.74 seconds and has a life span of five years, claims Oppo.

For mobile photography, the Realme X also consists of a dual camera comprising of a 48MP primary sensor with an f/1.7 lens and a 5MP secondary sensor with an f/2.4 lens. At the front, there is a 16MP selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture. The 16MP pop-up camera on the Realme X is located at the centre and according to the company the front camera only needs 0.74 seconds to pop up and has been tested to 200,000 cycles.

In terms of comparison, the Realme X will produce finer pictures than the Oppo K3 thanks to the 48MP primary sensor (but this sensor only works in the pro mode. By default, the Realme X captures 12MP photos).

Oppo K3 vs Realme X: Price

While both the smartphones are launched in China and are yet to be launched in India, the exact pricing would be announced later at the launch date. The Oppo K3 costs CNY 1,599 (approx. Rs 16,100) for the 6GB/64GB variant. The 6GB/128GB variant costs CNY 1,899 (approx. Rs 19,100). And the high-end 8GB/256GB variant is priced at CNY 2,299 (approx. Rs 23,200).

In China, the Realme X is priced at CNY 1,499 (approx. Rs 15,400) for the base 4GB/64GB storage variant. The 6GB/64GB costs CNY 1,599 (approx. Rs 16,400) and the 8GB/128GB version costs CNY 1,799 (approx. Rs 18,500).
